Sirongo Farms Agribusiness (“Sirongo Farms”, “we”, “us”) runs sirongofarms.co.ke, the Sirongo Farm Digest newsletter and the Farm Pro membership. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with and the rights you have under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect and why

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions that have legal effects on you.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers who process data for us under contract:
- MailerLite (newsletter sending), which stores subscriber data in the European Union.
- Paystack (payments), which processes Farm Pro payments.
- Our web hosting provider, which stores the website and its database.
- Safaricom Business, which hosts our email.
Some of these providers store data outside Kenya. Where that happens, we rely on their contractual and security safeguards, as the Data Protection Act requires. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, then removed from active lists within 30 days.
- Enquiries: up to 2 years after our last contact with you.
- Farm Pro payment records: 7 years, to meet Kenyan tax record rules.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to:
- be told how your data is used (this policy);
- see the data we hold about you;
- correct data that is wrong;
- have your data deleted;
- object to or withdraw consent for processing, including marketing; and
- receive your data in a portable format.
Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. For any other request, email info@sirongofarms.co.ke. We will respond within 14 days. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies it needs to work, such as those that remember a form submission. If we add analytics or advertising cookies in future, we will update this policy first.
Children
Our newsletter and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Security
The site uses encrypted HTTPS connections, access to data is limited to people who need it, and our providers keep their own security certifications.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. For significant changes, we will also tell newsletter subscribers by email.
